Echocardiographer/ Registered Vascular Technologist
The position requires the candidate to perform both Echocardiograms as well as vascular imaging.
As an Echocardiographer at Oswego Hospital the technologist will be responsible for performing echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms (pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic), and nuclear stress exams on inpatients, outpatients and emergency room patients. The Echocardiographer will need to work closely with the Cardiologist who is ultimately responsible for the exam.
As a Registered vascular technologist the technologist will be responsible for performing PVR’s and any other vascular test such as Arterial Doppler of lower extremities that is required.
The candidate should have knowledge of all procedures and be able to produce excellent quality images. The candidate should be able to recognize common issues and be able to communicate with the Cardiologist accordingly.
The candidate should be familiar with Cardiology PACS and be able to utilize the structured reporting that makes up the Cardiologist report.
The position requires a person that is highly self-motivated with a desire to provide quality patient care while expanding services. Excellent organizational and communication skills are a must. The position may require working at more than one campus. The position requires a registered Echocardiographer thru either American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). As a vascular technologist they should be registered with ARDMS or the AART. Experience of 2-5 years is preferred.
